    It is a tiny hamlet, on the Morenic Hills, surrounded by ancient walls.

    A romantic corner, elected as one of the most beautiful hamlets in Italy.


    Its construction dates back to the eleventh and twelfth centuries and overlooks a small heart shaped lake. Its panorama offers several suggestive views of the surrounding countryside.


    It is possible to enter the village through the northern gate with its clock tower.

    Along the way, you can admire the Church of S. Nicola in Baroque style and Villa Arrighi, an ancient private residence built in the 19th century.

    Castellaro Lagusello hosts a nature reserve, celebrated for its rare flowers. It is situated in the Mincio Regional Park.

    In the locality of Fondo Tacoli there is one of the 111 archaeological sites of lake-dwellings scattered throughout the territory, even dating back to the Bronze Age. The area has now become a UNESCO site.


    From Castellaro it is possible to reach the Mincio Valley, that provides a cycle path, which connects Peschiera del Garda to Valeggio sul Mincio and then continues to Mantova.


    In spring the village hosts the ‘Flower Festival’ where it is possible to find new and unusual  varieties of flowers and plants.

    In September there is the 'Buskers Festival' with street performers coming from all over the world.

    Verona is a magnificent city, built on the river Adige.

    It is famous all over the world as the 'City of Love'. Shakespeare used Verona for the setting of his famous tragedy "Romeo and Juliet".


    The symbol of Verona is the Arena, the largest opera house in Italy. The Roman amphitheater can accommodate 15,000 spectators.

    An evening at the Arena for the Opera during festival season is unforgettable.


    Another magnificent site is Castelvecchio, built by the Scaligeri dynasty, which ruled the city in the Middle Ages.

    Adjacent to the castle it is possible to visit the Ponte Scaligero, a fortified bridge with red brick walls and arches, very suggestive.


    Not far from Piazza dei Signori and Piazza delle Erbe, a visit to Juliet's House cannot be missed.

    The building, dating back to the 13th century, features the famous balcony where Romeo promised eternal love to Juliet.

    Today, young couples and unmarried people touch the statue of Juliet (a kind of good luck ritual) in hopes of finding true love.

    Very particular is the Basilica of St. Zeno, one of the most beautiful Romanesque basilicas in Italy, completed in 1138.

    Via Mazzini is a very famous shopping street, where you can find all the most important fashion brands in the world.

    Framed by mountains, Lake Garda offers unforgettable views.

    Its waters are the backdrop to suggestive medieval castles that welcome, within their walls, restaurants, pizzerias, cafés and shops 

    Among local specialities, we can mention the Garda Olive Oil and wines such as Bardolino and Lugana.

    Valeggio welcomes you with its suggestive ruins of the Visconteo Bridge, built at the end of 1300.

    In the background, on the top of a hill, the Castle, that dominates the Mincio river valley.

    It offers a splendid view of Morenic Hills.

    During the night, it is cleverly lit by soft lights that give it an enchanted atmosphere. 



    Coming down the hill, you can reach Borghetto, a tiny, romantic hamlet lying on the river Mincio, that offers suggestive views among stone buildings settled on the water, ancient watermills and a small wooden bridge overlooking the river.

    A fascinating corner, where the only sound is the flow of its waters.



MANTOVA

    Mantova is a tiny medieval city surrounded by water.

    It owes a lot of its prestige to the powerful Gonzaga family, who ruled the city for nearly four centuries.

    Many artists during the centuries came to the city.

    The Latin poet Virgilio (70-10 BC), who wrote the ‘Eneide’, was born nearby.



    The St. Giorgio Castle gives you one of the most beautiful views of Mantova. It welcomes you arriving from the lakes of the city.


    Beyond the walls there is Sordello Square, the oldest (Etruscan origins) in the city, which hosts the Cathedral, Palazzo Ducale and the Tower of Cage.

    In Ducale Palace it is possible to visit the magnificent ‘Camera degli Sposi’, painted by Mantegna.



    Not far, you can reach the Basilica of St. Andrea, which is one of the major works of Renaissance architecture in Northern Italy.     

    Nearby, there is the ‘Rotonda of St. Lorenzo’, the Mantova’s oldest church, built in 1082.


    Finally, be sure to visit the Te Palace, built in the 16th century.

    Among fabulous rooms, you can contemplate the unique ‘Sala dei Giganti’, which is a stunning fresco representing the battle between the giants who attempted to ascend to the Mount Olympus.
